Student Council

The UFG/VA/GeoArch student council actually consists of all enrolled students of prehistory and early history, Near Eastern archaeology, and geoarchaeology.

Colloquially, however, we tend to use the term “student council” to refer to the group of students who advocate for all students in their subject and try to represent them. This “more active” student council often consists of the elected members of the student council committee, but in principle, student council work is open to all students in the subject, regardless of which semester they are in.

All students are welcome and encouraged to attend the official student council meetings (Fachschaftsratsvollversammlungen). These meetings take place twice each semester and are announced well in advance. A wide range of topics are discussed, such as excursions, budget allocation, distribution of QSM funds, etc. It's definitely worth attending!

In addition to this page about the UFG/VA/GeoArch student council, there is an independent website with more detailed and informal information about studying and living in Heidelberg. Feel free to take a look!
